About the Role
This position is responsible for leading a program that supports the evolution of the Townsville’s water, waste, and broader infrastructure services into future ready, sustainable systems. The role drives innovative approaches — including technology, partnerships, and community capacity building — to optimise the delivery of services across water, waterways and drains, open spaces, natural areas, wastewater and recycled water, resource recovery, and buildings, facilities, and lighting, while empowering the community.
About You
* Demonstrated capability in leveraging smart technologies and integrated water, energy, and resource management approaches to enhance system efficiency, reveal synergies, and improve visibility of natural resource use and benefits.
* Proven ability to lead innovative business improvement and community behavior change programs in response to key operational and strategic challenges.
* Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management, networking, and community engagement.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate with and positively influence a range of stakeholders.
* Current Queensland \"C\" class open driver's licence.
* Current (or ability to gain) 'Blue Card' to work with children, as regulated by the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian Act 2000.
* This position requires an ability to work periodically on weekends, across the Townsville local government area.
* Qualification in community-based engagement e.g. IAP2 Certificate of Public Participation (desirable)
* Knowledge of behaviour change and transformative system approaches and methodologies for integrating environmental sustainability will be highly regarded.
