About Us
Embrace Education is a vibrant, student-run non-for-profit organization, seeking to provide educational support and mentoring to disadvantaged high school students in Melbourne, particularly those from refugee, recent migrant and disadvantaged backgrounds. Our primary focus is providing greater opportunity to local high-school students experiencing disadvantage. Through our programs, we aim to build the capabilities of refugee, culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) and/or lower socioeconomic status (SES) students who would benefit from additional support in education.
All students participating in Embrace Education's programs have a right to be and feel safe. As part of Embrace Education's mission to inspire and empower disadvantaged students, we support the rights of a child and will act without hesitation to ensure a child-safe environment is maintained at all times. The welfare of students participating in Embrace Education programs are our first priority, and we have a zero-tolerance approach to child abuse. This includes children from diverse backgrounds, disabled children as well as children of all sexualities and gender identities. As Embrace Education's target demographic includes disadvantaged students of broad backgrounds, we are committed to the principles of cultural safety to ensure their wellbeing.
Tutoring takes place through three key programs:
1. Individual Tutoring (ITP):
one-on-one tutoring sessions held at public libraries
2. Homework Clubs (HWC):
