About the Role
Strait Link is looking for energetic, reliable people to join our team as Washbay Attendants on a casual basis.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys physical work, takes pride in doing things properly, and wants to be part of a team that keeps freight moving safely and efficiently. As a Washbay Attendant, you'll play an important part in keeping Strait Link and customer equipment clean, compliant and ready for service. Based in our Burnie railyard, you'll work in a safety-focused environment alongside experienced operators, surveyors and workshop staff.
This role offers variety, structure and the opportunity to build skills across washbay, survey and yard operations over time.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Washing and cleaning shipping containers (internal and external)
* Inspecting, surveying, repairing and maintaining transport and shipping equipment
* Identifying and reporting damage, faults or safety issues
* Completing tasks within set timeframes and following clear procedures
* Performing general labouring and washbay duties as required
* Working safely around forklifts, mobile equipment and washbay operations
* Maintaining a clean, organised and safe work area

* Able to work independently and as part of a team
* Strong awareness of safe working practices
* Physically fit and comfortable in a hands-on role
* Good time management and reliability
* Clear communicator with a positive attitude
* Willing to learn and follow established procedures
Previous experience in washbay, yard, labouring or logistics roles is an advantage, but not essential as full training and support will be provided.
