Primary objective
Work closely with the officer in charge of the Youth Diversion Unit, the Domestic Violence and Youth Strategy and Policy
team, and the Digital Transformation team within NT Police, to enable reporting of youth-related data to a variety of internal
and external stakeholders.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Review youth-related records from a variety of sources to ensure completeness and accuracy of records, making
enquiries to obtain additional information as needed.
2. Verify the completeness and accuracy of data held in the SerPro and IJIS mainframe application systems relating to
youth diversion matters, and update data if/as required.
3. Utilise a variety of databases and hard copy files to compile required information, and create and maintain youth
diversion records, predominantly in Microsoft Excel.
4. Utilise data to enable reporting against various requirements and ad-hoc requests associated with youth diversion.
5. Assist the Officer In Charge with data quality assurance checks in relation to all youth diversion documentation and
legislative processes, including hard copy files, records in SerPro and IJIS, and other electronic records.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Proven high-level organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure, exercise initiative, meet tight timeframes,
and work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
2. Experience entering, updating, reviewing and interpreting data, with proficiency in the use of Excel and other common
Microsoft applications.
3. Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
4. Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure the accuracy of own work.
5. Sound interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare accurate written reports, and
interact effectively with people from diverse cultures and at various levels of seniority within the NT Police.
6. Demonstrated ability to use initiative and problem solve, with analytical thinking and conceptual skills.
7. Ability to interpret and apply legislation, and follow established policies, procedures and processes.
Desirable
1. Understanding of the role and functions of the NT Police, in particular the agency's youth diversion responsibilities.
2. Experience utilising NT Government systems and databases such as IJIS, SerPro, TRM.
