Associate Clinical Educator / Clinical Educator (Midwifery)
School of Health | UniSC Sunshine Coast, Sippy Downs – Part‐time (16.12 hours per week), fixed term until February 2027.
Remuneration commensurate with experience: Level A – $83,148–$112,588 (pro‐rate) p.a., plus up to 17% superannuation; Level B – $114,751–$136,143 (pro‐rate) p.a., plus up to 17% superannuation.
We are looking for a passionate and experienced midwife to support student learning in simulation laboratories and clinical placements, including telehealth, internal, and external settings. The role involves coordinating clinical courses, supervising students, collaborating with the Midwifery leadership team, and building partnerships with healthcare providers.
* support (Level A) or lead (Level B) clinical education across simulated and placement environments;
* coordinate clinical courses and contribute to the design and delivery of practice‐based learning activities;
* provide high‐quality supervision, feedback, and support to students on clinical placement;
* collaborate with academic and clinical teams to support clinical facilitators and enhance the student experience;
* develop and maintain partnerships with industry and community stakeholders to strengthen placement opportunities and program quality.
Qualifications
Level A – Associate Clinical Educator:
* current registration as a midwife with AHPRA;
* completion or near completion of a Master's qualification in a relevant field or equivalent accreditation and standing;
* demonstrated effectiveness in clinical teaching and student supervision across a range of settings (simulation, telehealth, placements);
* experience in delivering or supporting quality clinical education and student learning;
* strong collegial and professional qualities, with a commitment to ongoing development and a positive academic environment.
Level B – Clinical Educator:
* current registration as a midwife with AHPRA;
* completion or near completion of a PhD in a relevant field or equivalent accreditation and standing, or extensive clinical experience (minimum 10 years) as an accredited professional;
* demonstrated effectiveness in clinical teaching and student supervision across a range of settings (simulation, telehealth, placements);
* experience in delivering or supporting quality clinical education and student learning;
* strong collegial and professional qualities, with a commitment to ongoing development and a positive academic environment.
Desirable
* Recent midwifery practice in a clinical setting;
* Experience undertaking academic administrative functions such as course coordination or assessment moderation;
* Postgraduate qualifications in higher education.
