Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Carpenter to construct, install, repair, and maintain structures and fixtures made of wood and other materials.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work from technical drawings and specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood, plywood, drywall, and other materials
Construct and install building frameworks, including walls, floors, doors, windows, and cabinets
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
Repair and maintain existing structures and fixtures
Install fixtures such as shelves, counters, trim, and molding
Ensure work complies with building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards
Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery
Collaborate with other tradespeople, supervisors, and site managers
Keep work areas clean and safe at all times
Requirements & Qualifications
Proven experience as a carpenter or similar role
Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, materials, and tools
Ability to read and understand technical drawings and measurements
Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials
Strong problem-solving and time-management skills
Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Understanding of workplace health and safety regulations
Relevant trade certification or apprenticeship (preferred)
Experience in residential or commercial construction
Knowledge of concrete, steel framing, or finishing work
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Working Conditions
On-site work in residential or commercial environments
May involve working at heights, outdoors, or in varying weather conditions
Full-time / Part-time / Contract (depending on role)
Location & Compensation
Location: Sydney NSW
Salary: $81k – $110k (market average for Carpenter)
