Your new company
A leading national law firm with a strong Canberra presence is expanding its corporate practice and is looking for a junior to mid level lawyer to join a newly emerging team. You will be part of a collaborative, high performing group that advises government and private sector clients on technology, privacy and complex commercial matters, with the support of a broader national team.
Your new role
This is a broad commercial role with a technology focus. You will work across a mix of advisory and transactional matters, with exposure to high quality clients and the opportunity to run smaller files with increasing autonomy.
Key responsibilities include:
* Advising on strategic outsourcing and managed services arrangements
* Advising on procurement of technology and communications solutions
* Supporting work involving emerging technologies, including AI
* Advising on privacy, data protection, intellectual property and data assets
* Drafting and negotiating commercial documents and supporting stakeholder engagement
* Contributing to practical, modern delivery of legal advice for clients and internal teams What you will need to succeed To be successful in this role, you will have:
* 2 to 4 years post admission experience in commercial work relevant to technology, privacy, IP, data or procurement
* Strong drafting skills and clear, practical advice style
* Confidence managing competing deadlines and maintaining billing discipline
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills, you build trust quickly and communicate well
* Hybrid flexibility between home and the office
