Lecturer / Professional Fellow – Civil Engineering
Salary:
$118,308 – $140,147 (ALB) pro rata, plus 17% superannuation
Work Days: 2–4 days per week ******** FTE)
About the Role
The School of Civil and Mechanical Engineering (CME) seeks an experienced civil engineering professional with a passion for teaching. The role focuses on delivery of practice-informed teaching in Bachelor of Engineering and Master of Professional Engineering programs, supervision of industry-relevant projects, and curriculum development.
Responsibilities
Plan, deliver and assess teaching in the Civil Engineering discipline.
Apply innovative teaching methods that enhance the student experience.
Provide feedback on student work and contribute to curriculum innovation.
Engage with the discipline and promote a positive, inclusive work environment.
Apply health and safety standards, including responsibilities for industry supervisors.
Promote the discipline within and outside the University community through service and leadership roles and outreach activities.
Selection Criteria
Essential
Postgraduate qualification in Civil Engineering or related field and significant industry experience in civil engineering (infrastructure, construction, geotechnical, structural, transport).
Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver technical teaching.
Capacity to undertake a unit coordination role.
Capacity to supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects.
High level communication and interpersonal skills and commitment to a collegial, supportive working environment with cross-cultural sensitivity.
Commitment to integrity, health and safety, equity and inclusivity.
Desirable
Experience in engineering design, drawing, surveying.
Chartered status with a professional engineering body.
Experience in industry R&D projects.
A PhD in an engineering related field.
Role Requirements
Permanent (continuous) role – requires permanent work rights in Australia.
