Job Overview

This role focuses on ensuring that our food safety and compliance procedures are effective in preventing risks. We are seeking an experienced Compliance and Food Safety Professional to join our team in Darwin.



Key Responsibilities:

* Conduct comprehensive food safety induction training for all new employees, focusing on best practices and regulatory requirements.
* Provide guidance and support to staff during annual food safety refresher training, ensuring they remain up-to-date with the latest protocols.
* Pro-actively assist staff with on-the-job training, monitoring their performance and providing constructive feedback to enhance skills and confidence.
* Offer specialist advice and in-depth hands-on training to develop skills and confidence in the team to effectively manage Food Safety/HACCP and risk prevention in their respective areas of responsibility.
* Investigate and analyze customer complaints, including food poisoning allegations and other safety investigations, and supplier non-conformances, identifying areas for improvement.
* Provide expert Food Safety/HACCP advice to internal stakeholders as required, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
* Conduct regular Compliance audits and adhoc food safety tasks to ensure ongoing adherence to policies.
* Facilitate external customer and regulatory audits, promoting a culture of transparency and accountability.



Requirements:

* Previous experience in a similar role, with a proven track record of success in maintaining high food safety standards.
* Tertiary qualifications in Food Science or a related field, demonstrating a solid understanding of food safety principles.
* Certification in Food Safety Auditing (Internal and External) and HACCP Qualification, ensuring expertise in risk management.
* Prior experience in a large food manufacturing environment involving QA, HACCP, and Food Safety, with a focus on process improvement.
* Prior experience working within a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Prior knowledge/experience in ISO 22000:2018 certification, ensuring familiarity with international standards.
* A clear National Police Check is required, ensuring trust and integrity in this critical role.
