Downer Professional Services is comprised of two business units, our Technical, Advisory, and Capability consulting practice and Team Downer, a major service partner to Defence.
Together, we are a multi-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for our clients in Defence and National Security.
We currently have an opportunity for an Operational Governance Support Engineer in Adelaide to work on NCB projects.
What You'll Do
Subject Matter Expertise in Production & Delivery: Provide SME advice on production engineering, processes, and waterfront delivery to optimise project outcomes.
Stakeholder Coordination & Engagement: Liaise with DCE stakeholders including MIWS, CSI IPT, and NAUS to ensure alignment and collaboration.
Continuous Improvement & Assurance Support: Facilitate process improvements in line with the NCB DCE Assurance Plan to enhance production and delivery services.
Representation & Technical Support: Represent NCB in WDT, PIR, and SCWG forums, and support troubleshooting through SME guidance.
Inclusive Communication & Integration: Ensure key stakeholders are informed and engaged throughout the DCE journey, with a focus on IT, access, and collaborative forums.
What You'll Bring
Tertiary qualifications in Systems Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
Demonstrated experience in Defence maritime sustainment, preferably with DDG platforms or similar.
Strong understanding of Systems Engineering Lifecycle, including design assurance, configuration control, and verification & validation.
Familiarity with Naval Technical Regulatory Framework (NTRF) and Defence engineering governance.
Experience in technical documentation, root cause analysis, engineering change management, and experience working within Major Surface Ship SPOs or similar Defence environments.
Due to the nature of the work, you are required to currently hold and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 or higher Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth.
In some instances, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may also be an inherent requirement.
