About the role
We are seeking a Technical Officer - Engagement and Sustainability for a full‑time, 12‑week casual contract to support the quality and integrity of Australian wine through hands‑on technical assistance to grape and wine industry personnel.
As part of the Engagement and Sustainability group, you will deliver practical technical support across viticulture, oenology and sustainability. You will assist with industry enquiries and contribute to extension and communication initiatives designed to drive innovation across the sector.
This role is ideal for an early‑career grape and wine professional looking to develop skills, build industry networks, and contribute meaningfully to the future of Australian wine.
Key responsibilities
* Provide timely and accurate technical support across viticulture, winemaking and sustainability.
* Respond to enquiries from grape and wine industry personnel.
* Assist with the development and delivery of extension activities.
* Contribute to communication initiatives that support knowledge transfer.
* Work collaboratively within a busy team environment to support project outcomes.
About you
To be successful, you will have:
* A degree in viticulture and oenology, or a closely related field.
* Practical experience in grapegrowing and winemaking production environments.
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical information clearly.
* A collaborative working style and the ability to thrive within a dynamic team.
* A passion for contributing to a sustainable and innovative grape and wine sector.
