Due to continued growth, we are currently seeking a number of dedicated support workers who wish to make a difference in the everyday lives of NDIS participants with challenging behaviours and mental health challenges.
We are looking for support workers to cover the following areas:
Logan & Mansfield (Male Only)
* Must be fit, able to run and clear and precise communication skills.
* Must have experience with Children with Level 3 Non Verbal Autism.
* Experience in Medication administration.
* Organising and planning social events
* Must be social and willing to engage
* MAYBO training is advantageous
* Excellent writing skills for clear, precise, and detailed documentation.
* Must be willing to do personal care.
* Must be available Mon – Sun for Shifts
The Position
You will be working in a supportive environment with staff who are focused on ensuring our clients receive professional care and support to achieve their goals and improve their quality of life. Training and support will be provided to assist you in becoming a quality support worker.
You will be working independently. The days and hours will be consistent, and the positions are casual to permanent for the right applicants.
General Duties
As directed by the Clinical Director and in line with the client's NDIS goals, duties may include the following:
* Assist in the social engagement of young children, teens, and adults.
* Organising community access events
* Managing challenging behaviours and implementing BSPs and PBSPs
* Personal Care
* Community Access / Appointments
* Write and submit required documentation including but not limited to A-B-C Challenging Behaviours, shift progress notes, medication charts etc.
* Other duties as required.
* Any specific training will be provided.
About You
Friendly and patient with the ability to empathise with people with disabilities and have experience in working with young children, teenagers and adults with Challenging Behaviours and Mental Health.
Willing to learn and be committed to continuous personal development.
Professional attitude and willingness to engage with all levels within the Feels Like Home community.
Skills and Competencies
* Excellent writing, comprehension, and verbal skills.
* Sound mathematical skills.
* Proficient computer skills, with easy access to a computer, tablet, or smartphone.
* Ability to follow instructions and work within the limitations of the position.
* Ability to work independently.
Requirements
* Cert IV in Disability
* Must be fit and able to run.
* Current First Aid and CPR
* Current Qld driver's licence
* Reliable vehicle, with full insurance and be road worthy – must be willing to transport participant in own vehicle as required.
* You will be required to hold a current blue card and yellow card (or NDIS Worker Screening) prior to commencement of employment.
* ALL NDIS Training Modules must be completed prior to commencement of employment.
