About the Role
The role of Project Lead sits in Regional Capital DeliveryBranch. Operating under limited direction, this role plays a key role ensuring the Department of Transport delivers critical road projects. The role leads various activities to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and achieve strict quality and safety standards. Reporting to the Project Manager, the Project Lead is responsible for providing expertise for project planning, design, procurement, contract development and execution of works, surveillance; complex stakeholder engagement; coupled with effective financial management.
The Project Lead contributes to developing and delivering project activities, supporting the strategic direction of the Department and building effective stakeholder relationships. To succeed, the incumbent must drive collaborative relationships with municipalities, utility agencies, contractors and other Victorian State Government Departments.

It is of great importance to possess strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate with different levels of stakeholders whether it be verbal or written; tailoring communication to suit different groups.

- Experience at managing infrastructure projects

- A relevant tertiary degree in engineering, project management or at significant and equivalent experience.
