Senior Consultant - Aboriginal Languages

The Role
The Senior Consultant - Aboriginal Languages develops procedures, strategies and guidelines for schools to implement Aboriginal Language programs in line with the School Curriculum and Standards Authority. They communicate program implementation policies, procedures and outcomes to stakeholders, and support the delivery of the Aboriginal Language Teacher Training Course.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop an understanding of Aboriginal languages, language maintenance and revival, acknowledging the diversity of languages within communities.
- Identify, develop, implement and support quality language programs and resources in collaboration with schools and Aboriginal communities.
- Provide opportunities to strengthen and promote quality outcomes in language learning.

Eligibility
- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or hold a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
- Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
- Hold a recognised qualification in teaching and be currently registered or eligible for registration to teach in Western Australia.
- Hold a current Western Australian ‘C’ Class driver’s licence.
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
