Senior Compliance Manager Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Compliance Manager to lead our compliance team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive compliance framework that addresses legal and regulatory requirements.
You will provide strategic leadership to the compliance team, ensuring they have the resources and guidance needed to fulfill their responsibilities. You will also monitor and interpret regulations and industry standards as they apply, manage relationships with regulatory bodies, industry associations, and key stakeholders, and establish and manage a compliance monitoring and reporting system to ensure adherence to all compliance obligations.
In this role, you will assess potential compliance risks, develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and action plans, work with relevant teams to develop and conduct a compliance training program, review and update compliance policies, procedures, and manuals, oversee investigations related to compliance breaches or concerns, and coordinate and participate in compliance audits and testing.
To be successful in this role, you will need a Bachelor's degree in business, law, or a related field, with a master's degree or relevant professional certification preferred. You will also need experience working in the superannuation (preferred), managed funds (nice to have) and financial services industry (must have), a strong understanding of Australian financial services regulatory frameworks and compliance obligations, demonstrated experience in developing and implementing compliance strategies and frameworks, previous experience in a leadership role, strong knowledge of industry-specific regulations and compliance standards, excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
