Project Managers – Civil Infrastructure | Mackay Region

We are now seeking an experienced Project Manager ready to lead large-scale civil construction projects across the Mackay Region. Pentacon is seeking a highly capable professional to join our elite team, delivering works that shape Australia’s infrastructure. Must be local to the Mackay Region.
About the Role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Project Manager will take charge from project award through to client handover. You’ll be responsible for planning and delivery of construction works—ensuring time, cost, safety, and quality targets are achieved across all aspects of your project.
This is a hands-on leadership role, supported by a team of Engineers and Supervisors, where your ability to influence, guide, and communicate effectively is key to success.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the planning and delivery of civil projects to program and budget
* Manage daily site operations, construction schedules, and subcontractors
* Oversee procurement, labour onboarding, and material supply
* Ensure compliance with all HSEQ policies and regulatory requirements
* Build strong client relationships and ensure high levels of communication and reporting
* Provide mentorship and performance guidance to project teams
* Identify opportunities for business growth and contribute to tender development
What We’re Looking For
* Local to the Mackay Region essential
* Proven experience as a Project Manager in the civil construction industry
* Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
* Strong understanding of HSEQ systems and project delivery frameworks
* Ability to manage multiple priorities with a calm, solutions-focused mindset
* Experience liaising with authorities, subcontractors, and internal teams
* Competence in project reporting, procurement processes, and budget control
