We’re looking for a Senior Website & Digital Communications Advisor to oversee the editing and publishing of website content for the Environment and Heritage website, ensuring content is easy to find, engaging, accessible and relevant to our users. In this hands-on role, you’ll work within a small but pivotal team of web editors to publish a high volume of website content on behalf of a diverse range of scientific, environment and heritage subject matter experts. You’ll also play an important advisory role in the development and delivery of digital strategies, tools and standards that enhance the user experience. What you’ll do Day to day editing, writing and publishing of a high volume of new and existing website content, ensuring content meets NSW government content principles and digital standards. Provide team leadership, support and advice to content team members while assisting your manager in triaging and prioritisation of publishing jobs. Deliver high-quality website content that is user-focused, accessible and aligned with content strategy. Utilise Drupal templates, modules and other digital tools for effective and engaging presentation of content. Monitor and respond to content publishing requests within agreed service standards. Provide expert guidance on UX, SEO/GEO, information architecture, accessibility and web standards. Assist in the active review and assessment of content for retirement, working to agreed content governance standards. Analyse website performance to improve content accessibility, engagement and quality. Monitor and respond to urgent Ministerial requests and department announcements or launches that may require occasional weekend or after-hours publishing. About you You’re an experienced communications professional with a strong background in digital communications, writing for the web, web publishing and content strategy. You bring expertise in accessibility standards, analytics, search optimisation, government digital frameworks and are trusted for your clear, practical advice to stakeholders. You’re also a collaborative team member who builds strong relationships across government, industry and the community. You communicate effectively, manage competing priorities and bring a solutions-focused approach, in a deadline-driven, often pressurised environment. Whether mentoring your team, engaging with leadership team members or other stakeholders, you’re known for your integrity, professionalism and commitment to delivering digital outcomes that are user-focused, accessible and impactful.
