About the Role:
This role is responsible for the overseeing and administration of the sites Capital Project Engineering activities to meet Safety, Good Manufacturing Practise (GMP), and Good Engineering Practice (GEP).
The role is also responsible for the Environmental requirements as well as the operation and management of the Environmental Management System including the Wastewater Treatment Plant.
Responsibilities:
* Advocate, promoting and ensuring good Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) in every aspect of our business.
* Accountable for the Engineering department activities within areas of site capital plan delivery Monitor and control activities to ensure appropriate standards are adhered to.
* Accountable for the development of short term and long-term capital plans that balance equipment replacement, facilities, compliance and new capability requirements.
* Provide technical & engineering support to the production and maintenance teams as appropriate and when required given the continuous nature of the business. This will include providing support over the phone or attending site out of normal working hours as required.
* The Capital Project Engineer will support R&D, capital, maintenance and reliability projects as required.
* Prepare and manage Capital budgets to ensure spend is effectively justified, visible managed and aligned with Devro goals and stakeholder expectations.
* Project lead on engineering projects as required. Ensure assigned Engineering projects are effectively managed, resourced, implemented on time and to budget.
* Accountable for Contractor Management for Capital projects ensuring Contractors are compliant to Devro policies and procedures.
* Lead site Capital & sustainability committee ensuring cross functional representation with priorities and key projects clearly communicated to the Site Leadership Team and other key stakeholders.
* Work closely with Maintenance, R&D, Production and other subject matter experts to ensure strong collaboration on Devro Engineering needs.
* Accountable for ensuring all Capital purchasing is performed in alignment with Devro Procurement and Finance requirements.
* Lead site sustainability to ensure adherence to group sustainability roadmap to reduce carbon footprint, water & waste reduction. Monthly update of sustainability dashboard and liaison with group.
* Facilitate the site environment systems and management of ISO14001 audit certification requirements.
* Act as the lead for site Utility usage monitoring, reporting and forecasting.
About You:
Skills
* Tertiary qualification in Engineering Mechanical or Electrical.
* Proven organisational skills
* Superior problem solving & continuous improvement skills (6 Sigma/Lean is preferred)
Knowledge
* Experience managing multimillion dollar capital plan
* End to end project management experience
* Engineering and maintenance expertise, project management experience,
* Knowledge of GMP and food safety
* Knowledge of Environment management systems ISO 14001, sustainability best practices etc
* Ability to forecast site utilities usage and reporting on carbon emissions as per relevant govt guidelines
Experience
* Minimum of 5 years direct capital management experience with a strong understanding of Engineering / Maintenance in an FMCG environment
* Experience in an EMS System Preferrable
* End to end project management experience
