About the Role
Following our recent success in securing the Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA) tender, MTC has exciting opportunities for drivenCommunity Advocatesto join our Employment Services team at locations across theSydney Metropolitan Areaincluding Bankstown, Hurstville & Liverpool.
Reporting to theRegional Manager, the Community Advocate will be responsible for building and maintaining strong networks with local community organisations and support services to provide tailored and individualised support to IEA participants.
The role will focus on connecting participants with services that will support in addressing their non-vocational barriers to achieving sustainable employment.
The key responsibilities of the role will include:
Networking and building strong relationships with local external support and community services.
Eg.
NDIS Providers, medical practitioners and wellbeing organisations.
Promoting the benefits of inclusive employment through direct promotion, business development and attending community events.
Collaborating with referral partners and stakeholders to generate new participant referrals and support the onboarding process of participants joining MTC.
Facilitating workshops and group sessions to engage and educate participants and stakeholders.
Building rapport and understanding of participants' goals, progress and circumstances and connecting them with their practitioner.
Connecting participants to services that address their identified barriers.
Eg.
community organisations, support programs, allied health providers, medical professionals and educational organisations.
Maintain and update documentation of referral details, communications and appointments.
Other duties as required.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will have:
Lived experience or relevant experience supporting people with disability.
Qualifications in employment of disability services highly regarded.
Passion for inclusive employment and supporting people with disability.
Demonstrated understanding of the local labour market and employer needs.
Strong problem solving skills and ability to manage challenging behaviours.
Clear and adaptable communication skills.
Effective time management and prioritisation skills.
Cultural competence and the ability to work effectively with diverse communities.
A valid, unrestricted driver's licence.
