Catholic Education NT (CENT) operates 18 Catholic schools across the Northern Territory — from Early Learning to Secondary — including five colleges, seven primary schools, one flexible learning centre, and five remote schools. The Position
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Group Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing financial management, reporting and compliance across CENT.
The role works closely with school finance managers and internal stakeholders to ensure strong financial governance, effective financial systems and accurate reporting across the Catholic Education Office and schools.
This position plays a key role in supporting strategic decision-making, strengthening financial processes and ensuring compliance with relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.
This is a full-time permanent position, with commencement negotiable.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead financial management, reporting and governance across Catholic Education NT.
* Oversee group financial consolidations for the Catholic Education Office and schools.
* Manage the CENT budgeting process, including the funding distribution model for schools.
* Ensure compliance with Australian Taxation Office (ATO) and Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) obligations.
* Oversee the audit process and coordinate the preparation of financial statements across the organisation.
* Provide timely financial reporting and analysis to support executive decision-making.
* Administer banking platforms and manage corporate card programs.
* Lead and develop finance team members.
* Support school finance managers and non-finance leaders with financial reporting and insights.

About You
* Has tertiary qualifications in accounting and membership of a professional accounting body (CA preferred).
* Has extensive experience in financial management, budgeting and group consolidations.
* Has strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards (AASB) and financial compliance reporting.
* Has experience managing audits within complex or multi-entity organisations.
* Demonstrates strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving capabilities.
* Has excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Has experience leading and developing finance staff.
* Has a strong focus on improving financial systems, processes and internal controls.
* Is willing to support the culture and Catholic ethos of Catholic Education NT.
* Holds a current NT Driver's Licence.
* Is able to obtain and maintain a Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card).
* Experience in the not-for-profit sector, Technology One, or the education sector will be highly regarded.
