Are you an experienced professional in parks or grounds maintenance? We're seeking skilled Parks Maintenance Officers to join our team across Mackay. About the Role
As a Parks Maintenance Officer, you'll leverage your experience to ensure the upkeep, safety, and presentation of public parks and recreational spaces. Your background in horticulture, landscaping, and equipment operation will be essential as you:
* Mow lawns, trim trees and shrubs, and maintain flower beds to a high standard
* Inspect and repair park facilities, including playgrounds, benches, and shelters
* Operate and maintain equipment such as mowers, trimmers, and small machinery
* Apply herbicides and pesticides safely and effectively
* Clean park areas, remove rubbish, and ensure amenities are always tidy
* Maintain accurate records and adhere to safety regulations
Essential Qualifications & Experience
* General Construction Induction Training (White Card)
* QLD "C" Class Driver's Licence (or interstate equivalent)
* Medium Rigid (MR) Licence
* Demonstrated experience in horticulture, landscaping, and operating maintenance equipment
* Proven skills in plant propagation, integrated pest management, pruning, and managing botanic collections
Desirable
* Certificate II in Arboriculture or Horticulture
* Experience in herbicide and pesticide application
