Responsibilities
- Lead and manage staff across multiple locations to inspire, coordinate, and support a diverse team.
- Advocate for and promote library services to enhance outcomes and membership.
- Understand library policies and systems; oversee service delivery.
- Engage with the community and provide strong customer service.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to meet future library needs, including new facilities.
- Foster innovation and adaptability, including experience with digital resources and emerging technology.
- Oversee special projects and prepare grant applications to support initiatives.
- Support and attend community events in the library and consider long-term community needs.
Typical Day
- People manager: rostering, staff check-ins, and supporting daily requirements.
- Participate in the Liveable Communities Team approach.
- Community engagement and library service delivery events (Story Time, Author Talks, exhibitions).
- Coordinate special projects and grant activities; assist with library events.
- Plan for long-term library needs in response to community changes.
Qualifications and Experience
- Leadership and management experience across multiple locations.
- Advocacy, promotion, and community engagement skills.
- Understanding of libraries, library policies, and systems.
- Strong customer service and community engagement capabilities.
- Strategic planning experience, including development of new facilities.
- Ability to embrace innovation and technology; experience with digital resources is a plus.
Remuneration and Benefits
- Employment Type: Full time, permanent (35 hours per week).
- Salary: $118,824 – $133,001 depending on skills and experience, exclusive of super.
- Opportunity for performance-based increases after 12 months.
- Leaseback or vehicle allowance.
