About the Opportunity
This role offers a unique chance to work on the pioneering SSN AUKUS Build Program, delivering an essential sovereign capability for Australia.
The role reports to the Head of Digital Tools – Governance & Support, and involves project managing governance oversight tasks to ensure the successful delivery of Digital Tools projects.
It also includes supporting in-depth Digital Tools project activities, assisting in change management for governance, and supporting broader Transfer of Technology (ToT) & Innovation group objectives, including knowledge transfer and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
Ensure the safe and efficient delivery of project phases in accordance with established project management processes.
Manage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve optimal program outcomes.
Develop and mentor project team members.
Manage risks associated with delivering projects in a complex environment.
Lead team meetings aligned with departmental standards to manage schedule, cost, quality, risks, opportunities, and dependencies, including resourcing.
Implement organizational policies and procedures and address issues within the team.
Drive continuous improvement and address cross-team issues.
Note: Availability for collaboration calls outside normal UK working hours may be required.
Periodic domestic and international travel could also be necessary.
About You
Degree in a technical discipline relevant to managing complex technical projects or equivalent experience.
Minimum of five years' experience in a complex project environment as a Project Manager or similar role.
Understanding of product lifecycle, configuration management, safety, seaworthiness, and engineering governance.
Formal qualifications in System Engineering or equivalent training.
Strong knowledge of project delivery best practices including scheduling, earned value management, risk, quality, stakeholder, and personnel management.
Proven ability to plan, prioritize, and deliver business outcomes.
This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance at NV1 level, with ongoing eligibility to maintain such clearance.
