Be Found Care is seeking a Casual Chef to bring nutritious, high-quality meals to elderly residents in Wagga Wagga. This role is perfect for a skilled chef who takes pride in preparing delicious and dietary-appropriate meals while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene. Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and prepare nutritious meals according to dietary guidelines.
* Ensure safe food handling and kitchen hygiene standards are met.
* Oversee food storage, stock control, and kitchen organization.
* Cater to special dietary needs and meal modifications for residents.
* Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service.
* Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment.
* Adhere to aged care food safety regulations and guidelines.
Requirements:
* Certificate in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent qualification).
* Food Safety & Handling Certificate (mandatory).
* Previous experience as a Chef in aged care, healthcare, or hospitality (preferred).
* Strong understanding of dietary requirements and food allergies in aged care.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced kitchen.
* Excellent time management and ability to deliver meals efficiently.
* Valid Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
Bonus Skills (Highly Regarded):
* Experience in ordering and stock-take and HACCP documentation requirements for aged care or healthcare settings.
* Knowledge of texture-modified diets and nutrition for elderly residents.
* Leadership skills to supervise kitchen staff when needed.
