The East Kimberley
The East Kimberley is a stunning and sparsely populated area in the northeast corner of Western Australia and is known as one of the world's last wilderness frontiers. As a global tourism attraction, it is also known for its pristine kaleidoscope of colour, outback adventures, world-class fishing, excellent caravan parks, luxury accommodation options, great food, and friendly locals. It is an amazing and very unique part of Australia. The East Kimberley is diverse in many ways, with a unique mix of cultures, lifestyles, and abundant opportunities.
The Opportunity
Be part of an exciting new chapter at the Kununurra Leisure Centre and take your career on a true Kimberley adventure.
Set in the heart of the East Kimberley, the Centre is a vibrant, multi-user recreation hub that is currently undergoing a major aquatic redevelopment, with opening scheduled for June. The new facilities will include a state-of-the-art 50 metre pool and a dedicated leisure pool, complementing the existing Splash Park and transforming the precinct into one of the region's premier community assets.
We are seeking an experienced, energetic and forward-thinking leader to manage this revitalised facility. This is a rare opportunity to shape a brand-new operation from the ground up. You will recruit and lead a new team, oversee the opening of a flagship aquatic facility, and deliver high-quality recreation and aquatic services that genuinely make a difference to a remote and diverse community.
This role is ideal for someone who:
* Thrives on challenge and opportunity
* Wants to build something meaningful
* Is ready to combine professional growth with an unforgettable lifestyle experience
Living and working in Kununurra offers a unique blend of career impact and adventure. From world-class fishing and boating to spectacular gorges, waterfalls and national parks, this is a chance to enjoy a lifestyle few roles can offer while leading a facility that sits at the heart of the community.
What You'll Do
This is more than a job. It's an opportunity to:
* Make a lasting impact in a growing region
* Experience the Kimberley lifestyle
Take your career to the next level in a role with real purpose and visibility
Requirements
If you are passionate about aquatic operations, community leadership and ready for a professional and personal adventure, this role offers an experience unlike any other.
