Location: Parramatta (Hybrid working arrangement)

Employment type: Temporary, Full-Time role up to 31 December 2026

Salary: Clerk Grade 9/10, $129,464 - $142,665 pa, plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

Your role

An exciting opportunity exists to join the Change Management team within the Infrastructure and Assets (I&A) division as a Change Manager. This role is responsible for producing and managing change communications, event content, and staff engagement activities across a variety of formats.

The position supports teams across the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ), ensuring that messaging is clear, inclusive, and aligned with strategic objectives. Through effective communication and engagement, the role contributes to successful change adoption and strengthens organisational awareness and collaboration.

What you'll do

As a key member of the Change Management team within the I&A division, the Change Manager role will play a pivotal role in driving initiatives that enhance change management and communication practices, processes, and systems. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on improving how change is delivered and communicated, with a strong focus on leveraging technology to boost efficiency and user satisfaction.

The role will be responsible for developing high-quality, accurate, and engaging change and communications materials that keep stakeholders informed and involved. Working closely with a range of stakeholders, gathering and documenting detailed business and practical requirements to support enhancements and lead change management efforts. This includes ensuring comprehensive training and support is provided to enable smooth transitions.

The role is also responsible for ensuring projects are clearly scoped with defined outcomes, delivered on time and within budget, and aligned with business needs. Collaborating with Business units leads, to help assess and implement solutions during times of change.

The role includes conducting research to inform communication strategies, creating and maintaining SharePoint sites for projects, and performing change analysis to guide future planning. Importantly, ensuring all communications and events meet the Department's accessibility standards.

What we're looking for

The role requires a motivated and proactive professional with a strong passion for driving meaningful change and delivering impactful projects. Success in this position relies on the ability to leverage research and stakeholder input—particularly through close collaboration with business unit leads and subject matter experts—to co-create practical, innovative solutions. As part of the Change Management team, you will contribute to the delivery of complex projects, with a particular focus on process improvement and technical implementation.

The role is key in designing and executing communication strategies, training programs, and engagement activities that support successful change adoption across the organisation.

A collaborative and inclusive approach to stakeholder engagement is essential, ensuring clear communication and strong, productive relationships across teams. The role demands a results-driven mindset, with a focus on delivering outcomes, meeting project objectives, and supporting team members to achieve success. Strong technology skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, are also critical to performing effectively in this role.
