Job Title: Head of Sales Mechanical Interlocking Safety Systems

Industry Sector: Harsh and Safety Critical Environments, Mechanical, Locking, Manufacturing, Power Generation, Utilities, Energy, Construction, Industrial Safety, Logistic Safety, Distribution, End Users, Retail, Logistics and Warehousing

Area to be covered: National, remote

Remuneration: £75,000 + circa £25,000-£30,000 Commission

Benefits: Car allowance, Hybrid Car or EV + comprehensive benefits packages


Role Overview

The National Sales Manager Mechanical Interlocking Safety Systems will be responsible for:

1. Managing a team of 5 field sales professionals, focusing on safety solutions in harsh and safety-critical environments
2. UK-based with some European travel, up to one month a year (including trips to Germany)
3. Recruiting, coaching, and developing the sales team as needed
4. Promoting safety products such as safety gates, switch disconnectors, time delay switches/isolators, panel door interlocks, exchange boxes, etc.
5. Driving sales of loading bay safety solutions, currently representing 70% of the team’s focus, with typical solutions valued between £75,000-£200,000
6. Expanding into distributor and OEM markets across energy, industrial, and loading bay segments
7. Managing an initial turnover of approximately £5.75m, with a goal to grow this to £6m
8. Leading strategic transformation towards a more proactive, new business approach, targeting new segments and partners


Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have:

* Proven experience managing and improving a field sales team
* Experience in sectors such as mechanical, manufacturing, retail, warehouse, energy, or construction
* Ability to transform an account management sales team into a proactive new business team
* Entrepreneurial mindset, strategic thinking, and value selling capability
* Excellent coaching, mentoring, and training skills
