Join a dynamic community engagement team for a 5-month assignment with a local government department located in Ipswich. You'll plan, deliver, and evaluate engagement initiatives, provide advice on best practice strategies, and represent the organisation on collaborative projects. This is a hands‐on opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects, support high‐quality engagement, and strengthen relationships with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver community engagement advice, support, and activities in collaboration with the team.
* Communicate project progress and successes, and gather community feedback where appropriate.
* Represent the organisation on projects, supporting planning, monitoring, reporting, communications, and change management.
* Provide advice and support on engagement planning, design, delivery, reporting, and evaluation.
* Build effective engagement skills and capabilities across the organisation, including supporting training initiatives.
* Identify and analyse key stakeholders and communication channels to standardise and improve communications.
* Assist in addressing sensitive issues impacting the organisation's relationship with stakeholders.
To be considered for this opportunity you will be able to demonstrate
* Relevant professional qualification or substantial experience in community relations, media, corporate communications, or marketing.
* Current Class 'C' driver's licence.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders.
* Proactive, adaptable, and solution‐focused, able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‐paced environment.
* Empathetic and approachable, with a genuine interest in engaging and understanding community needs.
