HQ'd out of Melbourne, but now having a truly dispersed design team across Australia. This team is responsible for building and maintaining a site & experience that is a core service to its customers. As the Product Designer, you'll be a key member of a team, leading UI strategy and design for website redevelopment aimed at delivering a simpler self-service experience, along with improving overall usability of their products & services.
You will work closely with the Design system team & Manager to optimise the figma design system and help drive it forward. Naturally, you'll be systematic in your design thinking & be very strong at structuring documentation. It's a large organisation so you'll need to be great with stakeholders. You'll need to embed yourself in other teams and makes sure they are able to contribute & use to the DS effectively.
- As a Design professional, you'll need the following skills & experience to be successful in securing the role:
- 5+ years in UI / Product Design roles
- Excellent knowledge of the design process including design methodologies, principles and design systems
- Proven experience on digital transformation projects that have delivered positive customer and business impact
- Excellent UX/UI design skills including creating UI toolkits, wireframing, build ready UI
- Experience designing systems with a lot of content
- Experience working closely in cross-functional product teams throughout development from planning and creation to delivery
- An impressive digital portfolio, demonstrating a range of web design across various customer touch points
- Experience creating responsive experiences for desktop, mobile and tablet
- Strong communication and design presentation skills to effectively advocate for design
- Skilled in tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Storybook, Jira and Confluence. Figma is the design and prototyping solution of choice in this project as the team and organisation works cross-platform.
- Knowledge of web accessibility standards and experience in designing accessible solutions.
- While you'll lead the UI design, you'll be an energetic team-player more than a solo-operator.
