This is a Recruitment Pool for a Fixed Term Full Time or Part Time, with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency

Position Profile

We are currently seeking to appoint suitably experienced and highly motivated Midwives - Travel Program.

The travel program provides opportunity for Midwives to live and work in a variety of rural communities and experience what a rural lifestyle and opportunities are on offer over a 12 month placement. The role is to provide care for patients within the scope of practice of a Midwife.

Area Profile

The WA Country Health Service (WACHS) is the largest country health system in Australia and one of the biggest in the world, providing health services to approximately half a million people, including 45,000 Aboriginal people, over a vast two and a half million square kilometre area. The organisation comprises seven regions, with a strong network of public hospitals, health services and health centres located across rural and remote Western Australia. Our core business is the provision of quality, accessible health services to country WA residents and visitors.

WACHS consists of seven regions - Kimberley, Pilbara, Goldfields, Midwest, Wheatbelt, Great Southern and South West. Note: not all WACHS regions are included in the TRAVEL program.

Eligibility to Apply

To be eligible for appointment, applicants must have a valid working visa (for fixed term appointments) or be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia (for permanent appointments).

International sponsorship is not available for these positions. To be eligible for appointment applicants must have an entitlement to work in Australia for the period of the program (Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, New Zealand citizen who entered Australia on a current New Zealand passport and was granted a visa with work entitlements on arrival, non-Australian citizen holding a valid visa with work entitlements).

Current WA Health Employees must get permission from their supervisor prior to applying if they intend to request secondment/temporary deployment to undertake the program.
