The Opportunity
Public Sector People are seeking an experienced AO6 Web Content Officer to coordinate the day-to-day management, monitoring and continuous improvement of multiple government websites and intranet platforms.
This role is ideal for a skilled web professional with strong content governance experience who can balance stakeholder needs with compliance, usability and best practice web standards in a regulated environment. You will play a key role in ensuring web content is accurate, accessible, user-focused and aligned with organisational objectives.
This is a temporary contract on agency books 12th January - 30th June
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the day-to-day operation of multiple websites and intranet sites, including content updates, publishing processes and ongoing maintenance
* Analyse and report on website performance, usability and analytics, recommending improvements
* Ensure sites comply with governance requirements, style guides, templates and publishing guidelines
* Write, edit and publish web content in line with best-practice web writing standards
* Act as a key liaison point between communications teams, internal stakeholders, technology partners and external service providers
* Coordinate web and intranet updates to ensure alignment with information architecture and user experience principles
* Provide training, guidance and support to content owners, editors and authors
* Coordinate regular site audits and reviews with stakeholders
* Set up and manage website monitoring processes, including search optimisation and performance tracking
* Contribute to the development and implementation of online and digital strategies
* Support web-related projects and perform additional duties as required
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
* Demonstrated experience managing multiple websites within government or complex organisations
* Strong knowledge of web development concepts, content governance and regulated web environments
* Proven experience using content management systems, with Squiz Matrix highly regarded
* Excellent writing, editing and communication skills tailored for digital audiences
* Confidence providing advice and guidance to a wide range of stakeholders
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
* Experience working with analytics, usability reviews and continuous improvement practices
* A degree in IT, web management or a related field (desirable)
