About the Centre/Service Fordham Avenue Kindergarten is a sessional community kindergarten located in a quiet, residential pocket of Camberwell. We are a parent-committee managed early childhood education provider for 3YO and 4YO programs. At Fordham Avenue Kindergarten we believe that early childhood is a precious time. Fordham Avenue Kindergarten aims to promote development and learning in all areas (social, emotional, intellectual, language, physical and creative) in an environment where children can learn through play and active participation. Overview: A newly vacant role for our service commencing in November 2025, the administration assistant’s primary responsibility will be to facilitate and support both the teaching team and committee of management in tasks related to the daily operation of Fordham Avenue Kindergarten. These tasks include, however are not limited to: - Enrolments and all associated documentation (using EnrolNow) Overseeing and managing the central kinder email/inboxes Working with committee where assistance is required Organising and conducting tours of the kindergarten Responding to general enquiries on behalf of the service Engaging with third parties where necessary/requested, e.g. Boroondara Council, The Department of Education, NQA, ELAA, bookkeeper, etc. Managing the KIMS/Arrival system Applying for grants when available Preparing and distributing policy updates Maintaining and updating website Supporting the teaching team with specific tasks, as requested, e.g. preparing funding applications, liaising with key workers around scheduling meetings and documentation requirements, managing/updating the QIP Participating in staff meetings where required, e.g. planning, taking minutes Ordering consumables when required Redirect queries regarding child development, education, and pedagogy, to the child’s teacher and coordinator where necessary Prepare room contact lists for each program and emergency contact list for teachers Maintain confidentiality on all issues relating to children and families and comply with the service’s privacy policy. Refer to full Position Description - https://www.fordhamavekinder.org.au/join-our-team Qualifications Key Selection Criteria • Demonstrated experience in administration, preferably within early childhood education, kindergarten, or childcare settings. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with families from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. • Sound organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. • Proficiency in using enrolment management system (EnrolNow) preferred and Microsoft Office suite applications and data entry. • Understanding of relevant legislative and regulatory requirements, including privacy, child safety, and Department of Education guidelines. • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team. • Commitment to the values of inclusion, respect, and community engagement.
