We are seeking Casual Maintenance Fitters to support shutdown maintenance, project work, weekend maintenance, and shift cover across manufacturing environments throughout Victoria, including:
* FMCG manufacturing
* Food manufacturing
* Beverage production
* Plastics manufacturing
* Paper and cardboard manufacturing
* Packaging lines
* High speed production environments
* Industrial maintenance or shutdown work
Responsibilities
* The role will involve mechanical maintenance, breakdown support, planned shutdown work, equipment repairs, fault finding, preventative maintenance, and general fitting duties across production machinery and production plant.
Key Requirements
* Trade Qualification, Mechanical Fitter, C8 to C10 classification
* Minimum 5 years experience as a Maintenance Fitter in similar manufacturing environments
* Robust maintenance experience across production plant and high speed machinery
* Proven capability in breakdowns, fault finding, and preventative maintenance
* Previous industrial experience within manufacturing and food environments
* Understanding of Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing principles
* Proactive mindset with the ability to contribute effectively within a team
* Basic familiarity with CMMS software systems is required
* TIG welding experience with stainless steel would be advantageous
* Manual machining experience would be advantageous
* Must have positive communication skills, strong attention to detail, solid work ethic, and valuable attitude
* Must hold an Australian qualification in Mechanical Trade or Fitting and Turning
* Must hold a current driver's license
* Must be an Australian citizen
