About the Role
This role supports the finance team and business units with accurate reporting, structured forecasting support and practical commercial insights.
You will assist with month-end processes and key reporting deadlines, support incentive and other commercial calculations, maintain pricing tools and key commercial terms, contribute to forecasting and budgeting processes, and provide clear analysis and commentary to the business. The role suits someone who enjoys structured analytical work, improving processes and partnering with operational teams.
This role is full time based hybrid out of our Mornington HQ.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting, Analysis and Month-End Support
* Support the finance team during month-end close and other key reporting deadlines.
* Prepare and update regular reports for revenue, margin and key KPIs using established templates.
* Perform variance analysis (actuals vs budget/forecast), identify and summarise key drivers, and elevate issues where required.
* Respond to ad hoc data requests using Excel and finance systems.
Commercial Calculations and Controls
* Maintain trackers and supporting schedules for commissions, rebates, incentives or other commercial arrangements as required.
* Perform regular calculations using agreed rules and templates, ensure outputs are audit-traceable, reconcile where required and resolve straightforward queries.
* Maintain clear documentation of commercial rules and assist with testing changes to plans or structures.
Pricing and Commercial Support
* Maintain pricing sheets, rate cards and documented summaries of approved pricing, discounts and commercial terms.
* Update pricing models for new products, locations or customer agreements as directed.
* Perform margin and pricing analysis by customer, product or channel to support commercial decision-making.
Forecasting and Budgeting Support
* Assist in the annual budgeting and periodic re-forecasting processes by updating templates with latest actuals and assumptions.
* Load budgets and forecasts into reporting systems and validate data for accuracy and completeness.
* Maintain rolling forecast files and supporting schedules under direction of the finance team.
Business Partnering
* Provide first-line finance support to sales, operations and other teams on routine queries.
* Explain results and reports in clear, non-technical language, escalating more complex matters as required.
* Attend key team meetings to understand upcoming activity that may impact revenue, costs or commercial arrangements and communicate relevant insights to finance.
Data, Systems and Process
* Maintain key finance and commercial data to ensure system accuracy and consistency.
* Maintain appropriate version control and documentation standards across finance files.
* Assist in improving spreadsheets, templates and basic controls relating to reporting and commercial processes.
* Support implementation or enhancement of reporting tools led by the finance team.
About You
* Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Economics or similar.
* Experience in a finance, commercial, business analyst or accounting role.
* Strong Excel capability (pivot tables, lookups, core formulas) and comfort working with structured data.
* Exposure to management reporting, budgeting/forecasting or financial analysis in a commercial environment is advantageous.
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
* High attention to detail, particularly in calculation-driven and pricing-related work.
* Organised and proactive, comfortable working to structured deadlines and managing both routine responsibilities and ad hoc analysis.
