Lower Murray Water (LMW) is a water corporation providing services to around 80,000 urban and rural customers along the Murray River. Our service region lies within the traditional lands of First Nations Peoples, starting from Barapa Barapa (Koondrook), travelling downstream along the Murray River through Latji Latji (Mildura) and flowing to Ngintait at the South Australian border. A unique organisation, LMW operates both urban and rural water businesses which support domestic and commercial customers from households through large-scale irrigation operations. As a leader within the region, LMW has established itself as a major contributor to enhancing regional prosperity, directly impacting social, environmental, and economic benefits.

LMW are seeking an enthusiastic individual with mechanical aptitude and technical expertise to deliver effective maintenance and general repairs on LMW assets.

About the role:

This position within Lower Murray Water's (LMW) Plant Operations and Maintenance Division reports to the Team Leader of Mechanical Maintenance and works as part of a broader Plant Operations and Maintenance team.

This position works with a team of qualified tradespersons within fitter and machinist/mechanical trades and is primarily responsible for performing mechanical maintenance and general repairs to a diverse range of LMW Assets.

Key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

* Strong communication skills with both internal and external customers
* Ensure all works are carried out in a safe and compliant manner, utilising SWMS and Take 5 assessment processes
* Accurately fit parts and the ability to work with or without drawings
* Identify and implement innovations and efficiencies in the Mechanical Maintenance Department
* Assist with the monitoring and checking of water, irrigation, drainage and sewer assets

About you:

As a Mechanical Maintenance Operator, you will thrive in our friendly, collaborative culture. You will have a strong mechanical aptitude and the technical expertise to deliver effective maintenance and general repairs to LMW's water, wastewater and irrigation infrastructure.

You will have trade experience and demonstrate strong fault finding and problems solving skills and a sound understanding of OHS practices and principles, these will support your success in this role.
