About the role:
Reporting to the HR Manager, the Workplace Health & Safety (WH&S) Officer is accountable for overseeing operational safety and compliance (inspections & monitoring, toolbox talks, risk assessments and JSAs) whilst driving the safety culture and training programs and overseeing rehabilitation. A self-starter, the role will also have operational and strategic oversight of WH&S, whilst fostering a continuous learning safety culture at the shop floor. Working closely with the Production Managers, a key outcome will be to put safety improvements 'into practice' influencing key stakeholders to achieve this. Most notably, the WH&S Officer will create the path and strive towards long term milestones including ISO45001 accreditation, introduction of safety software that is 'fit for purpose' as well as measured improved safety performance over time.
About you:With relevant qualifications in WH&S, you have previous experience working in a WH&S role, ideally in heavy engineering or manufacturing, across operational and strategic WH&S programs. An influencer, you have demonstrated experience delivering positive safety programs that promote improved safety culture and performance that is both measurable and embraced by leaders and the team. Previous experience working with ISO45001 will be well regarded.
