About The Opportunity
As a Biosecurity Officer you will be responsible for the coordination of controlling, monitoring, reporting and mapping of declared pests and enforcement of the Biosecurity Act 2014 on behalf of Council in the nominated area. You will also develop educational resources and liaise with state agencies, Landcare, catchment care, conservation groups and regional natural resource organisations, landholders, elected members and other council staff to meet departmental goals.
About You
* Hold Tertiary qualifications in Natural Resource Management or similar and/or have relevant industry experience.
* Hold a current Class C drivers licence, AC/DC Chemical licence and a Coxswain ticket or equivalent.
* Experience in coordinating and planning invasive species management including liaising with stakeholders.
* Experienced in aquatic weed identification and management.
* Ability to provide excellent customer service, developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
* Sound level of experience in the use of in-field mapping devices and other GIS tools.
* Skilled in using a range of data systems and Microsoft Office applications to analyse information and deliver professional reports.
