About the role
Accelerate Communications' is seeking a skilled and experienced Civil Leading Hand to join our thriving team in Mackay, QLD. As a Full-time Civil Leading Hand, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating construction activities on our civil projects, ensuring efficient and high-quality delivery.
What you'll be doing
* Supervise and coordinate the work of construction crews, delegating tasks and ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in compliance with safety regulations
* Liaise with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to communicate progress, identify and resolve issues, and ensure the successful execution of projects
* Oversee the operation and maintenance of construction equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working order
* Monitor and report on productivity, quality, and safety metrics, and implement corrective actions as needed
* Provide on-site training and guidance to team members, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
* Assist with the preparation of detailed work plans, schedules, and resource requirements
What we're looking for
* Significant experience (5+ years) as a Civil Leading Hand or similar supervisory role in the construction industry
* Strong knowledge of civil construction methods, materials, and equipment, as well as relevant safety protocols and regulations
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with teams, clients, and other stakeholders
* Proven leadership and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
* Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, plans, and specifications
* Relevant trade qualifications or certifications (e.g., construction management, civil engineering)
