Systems Engineer (Level 3) - UAS | Defence Aviation
We're seeking an experienced Systems Engineer (Level 3) to support Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS) within a Defence program environment. You'll play a key role in engineering governance, system sustainment, and technical assurance, working across complex aviation platforms and contributing to critical national capability. You will work closely with stakeholders across engineering, logistics, and project teams to ensure UAS materiel is effectively transitioned, maintained, and continuously improved.
What will I be doing day to day?
* Review and approve engineering artefacts and technical documentation
* Assess engineering changes, deviations, and modifications
* Conduct Technical Information Reviews (TIRs)
* Respond to RFIs and Engineering Advice Requests (EARs)
* Perform technical investigations and provide SME advice
* Maintain configuration management of UAS platforms
* Support updates to technical publications (IETMs, AAPs)
* Ensure safety and compliance across all engineering activities
* Support transition from acquisition to sustainment
* Engage with stakeholders across engineering, logistics, and project teams
* Contribute to performance reporting, EMS improvements, and QMS activities
What sort of skills do I need?
* Bachelor of Engineering (or equivalent experience)
* 3+ years post‐graduate experience
* Background in systems engineering within Defence or aerospace
* Strong documentation, review, and governance experience
* Excellent stakeholder engagement skills
* NV1 Security Clearance (essential)
Highly Regarded
* UAS / aviation experience
* DASR / CASR knowledge
* Systems safety experience or training
* Experience working in CASG or Defence programs
