About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Asbestos Analyst to join our high-performing asbestos team. This is a rare opportunity to step into a senior role with a strong focus on technical excellence, mentoring, and continuous improvement.
You'll play a pivotal role in conducting and reviewing complex asbestos identification and fibre counting, administering training programs, and driving method development and compliance in line with ISO 17025.
Responsibilities
Perform and review complex asbestos identification in soil and bulk materials using PLM
Conduct and oversee fibre counting using PCM, ensuring precision and accuracy
Approve and finalise analytical results and client reports
Provide expert technical support and advice to clients
Lead internal and external training programs for junior analysts and clients
Administer and contribute to proficiency testing programs
Drive method development and improvements in asbestos analysis
Conduct internal audits and liaise with external auditors to maintain accreditation compliance
Mentor and support the development of junior staff
Maintain strict adherence to WHS, NATA, and ISO 17025 standards
Skills and Experiences:
About You
We're looking for a highly experienced asbestos analyst who thrives in a technical role and is passionate about building capability in others.
You will have:
A relevant science degree (e.g. Chemistry, Environmental Science)
Minimum 5 years of experience in asbestos identification and fibre counting
Advanced expertise in PLM and PCM
Strong understanding of ISO 17025 and NATA accreditation requirements
Experience in training and mentoring junior analysts
Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
The ability to communicate confidently and professionally with clients and internal stakeholders
