Are you a natural coach who loves empowering people to succeed?
We are looking for a new Driving Instructor to join our Hobart team in a full-time capacity. This role isn't just about teaching someone to drive – it's about coaching, mentoring, and supporting learner drivers to become confident and safe drivers.
As a Driving Instructor at RACT, you'll use teaching techniques that encourage drivers to self-supervise, self-assess, and self-instruct – building their confidence and critical thinking skills behind the wheel. You'll adapt your coaching style to connect with people of all ages and backgrounds, making lessons engaging, supportive, and empowering. This role is perfect for someone who gets energy from seeing others succeed.
You'll work across Hobart and surrounds, delivering exceptional coaching experiences that learners will remember long after they pass their test. There may even be opportunities to support community road safety initiatives and help us deliver lessons to remote areas.
What makes this role special:
* You're not just teaching people to drive – you're building their confidence, independence, and life skills.
* Every day brings new people to coach and new opportunities to make a meaningful impact.
* You'll be part of a collaborative team that's passionate about road safety and customer experience.
* Variety in your day – coaching, supporting admin tasks, promoting road safety initiatives across Tasmania.
* You'll help shape the next generation of Tasmanian drivers.
Successful candidates will have:
* Highly developed interpersonal skills, including ability to interact with and influence people at all levels.
* Ability to achieve outcomes with minimal supervision.
* Demonstrated ability to understand content and deliver training and education in varied environments.
* Ability to adapt in a changing environment.
* Ability to relate well to people of all ages and backgrounds.
* Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
* Highly developed computer literacy, particularly with common office applications.
* Full, current Tasmanian driver's licence for minimum 3 years.
* Certificate IV in Training & Logistics – Road Transport (car driving instruction) is highly desirable. If you don't currently hold this qualification but have the coaching and people skills we're looking for, we'd still love to hear from you – we'll support the right candidate to obtain this qualification.
Community and Benefits:
* Staff discounts: Enjoy significant discounts on RACT home and car insurance, and free Ultimate Roadside Assistance.
* Wellbeing leave: Three days of Wellbeing Leave available per year that can be used however you wish.
* Superannuation contribution matching: For every dollar you contribute to your superannuation, we'll match it up to 2%.
* Career growth: We invest in your development because your success is our success.
* Flexible work: Life isn't one‐size‐fits‐all, and neither is our work. Balance your life commitments with our flexible work environment.
