With operations across multiple locations and a strong pipeline of work in the Northern Territory, we are seeking a highly skilled Scaffold Design Engineer / Estimator to join our team in Darwin.
About the Role
This is a dual-role position combining scaffold design and estimating responsibilities. You will be involved in developing compliant scaffold designs, preparing accurate cost estimates, and supporting project teams from concept through to delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare scaffold designs, drawings, and layouts including engineer sign off
* Ensure designs comply with Australian Standards (AS/NZS 1576, 4576)
* Interpret construction drawings and site requirements
* Complete material take-offs and detailed cost estimates
* Prepare and submit tenders and quotations
* Liaise with clients, site teams, and project managers
* Conduct site visits where required
* Identify risks, variations, and cost-saving opportunities
About You
* Experience in scaffolding design and/or estimating
* Proficient in AutoCAD & Sketch Up
* Strong understanding of scaffold systems and load requirements
* Ability to read and interpret construction plans
* Solid commercial awareness and attention to detail
* Strong communication and organisational skills
Desirable
* Engineering qualification (Structural preferred)
* Advanced Scaffold Ticket
* Experience with scaffold design software (e.g. Scaffplan, Smart Estimator)
* Experience in mining, oil & gas, or heavy industrial projects
