About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Category Manager to join our team in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide or Perth. The successful candidate will report directly to the Head of Supply Chain for this critical project. We support flexible work arrangements, including working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working models.
The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing, placing and managing contracting arrangements with capable suppliers to deliver cost, schedule, quality and safety requirements in a complex environment. This will involve providing commercial and technical direction to the procurement team and collaborating closely with stakeholders to drive business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the category management remit for raw material and metals special processing, including steel procurement, metal fabrication and machining. Provide category specific contracting, direction and advice to the procurement team and the project team.
* Develop and manage category strategies, taking advantage of enterprise level supplier agreements and negotiations. Finalise supplier agreements in accordance with set procedures.
* Apply strong commercial skills to facilitate umbrella-style contracting and enable efficient execution of Enterprise Agreements (EAs).
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment on category initiatives.
* Understand market trends and risk environments relating to your category.
For this role, we are seeking a highly skilled professional with experience in Procurement and/or Supply Chain. A demonstrated ability to develop and negotiate contracts with key suppliers, including panel style agreements, is essential. Experience in ASDEFCON Australian Defence contracting is advantageous.
