Lecturer - Laboratory Medicine (Haematology) — Part-time fixed term (0.4 FTE, 2 days/week) until February 2031. Location: Curtin's Bentley Campus (Boorloo, Perth).
Job Reference: 1468905. Salary: $118,308 - $140,147 (ALB) pro-rata, plus 17% Superannuation.
Join Curtin University as a Lecturer in the Laboratory Medicine department for a fixed-term contract lasting until February 2, 2031, in a part-time capacity. You will teach, assess, and coordinate Haematology units across all three years of the B-LAMBED program, with opportunities to contribute to other units as needed.
Responsibilities
* Teaching and learning: Deliver engaging instruction across online, blended, and face-to-face settings; collaborate to design innovative curricula and learning materials.
* Assessing student learning and providing timely, constructive feedback.
* Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of discipline theory and educational practices; participating in ongoing professional development and curriculum innovation.
* Managing administrative aspects of teaching, including moderation and assessment of student work, planning research-informed learning activities, and supporting course teams in curriculum and resource development.
This role supports equitable student experiences and aims to foster academic success for students from diverse backgrounds.
Selection Criteria
Who we are looking for:
* A doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline (or equivalent accreditation and professional standing for Teaching Focused Clinical Professional role).
* Recent evidence of high-level teaching skills in haematology (introductory through advanced), with emphasis on general haematology and transfusion science, and other discipline areas related to Laboratory Medicine; demonstrated reflective teaching practice.
* Recent experience working in a contemporary diagnostic pathology laboratory.
* Strong understanding of pedagogical theory and current educational practice relevant to the discipline.
* Demonstrated experience or capacity to undertake unit coordination.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills; commitment to a collegial, supportive workplace and cross-cultural sensitivity in interactions with students and staff.
* Commitment to applying relevant policies, procedures, and legislation in day-to-day performance of the role.

* As this is a fixed-term contract, you must have current work rights in Australia matching the tenure of this role.
