Business Development Manager – Broker Distribution

What's the role?
As a desk-based Business Development Manager, you'll be the key link between BankSA and our mortgage broker partners – ensuring that they understand and trust our value proposition and actively promote Westpac to their clients. You'll work closely with a core group of active brokers while tapping into a broader pool across SA, ultimately holding responsibility for broker NPS and settlement targets through the management of these relationships. This flexible, hybrid role is based in the office three days per week and will see you engaging with stakeholders predominantly over the phone and via video conference. Physical attendance at networking events will be required on an ad-hoc basis.
Manage and grow an active broker portfolio
Develop strong broker relationships, provide policy and product education and coach on loan structuring
Troubleshoot pipeline issues, help mobilise deals through the credit process and provide solutions for complex scenarios
Host and attend networking events including webinars, coffee clusters and development days
Create business plans, hold regular strategy catch-ups and maintain a rolling applications pipeline
What do I need?
Strong, proven experience in credit assessment / policy
Experience in a Business Development Manager, Credit Assessor, Broker, Lender or equivalent role
Comfortable and flexible to attend / host online networking events, and conduct business predominantly over the phone / via video conference
The ability to work autonomously, manage a fast-paced pipeline and achieve set targets
Skilled in developing mutually beneficial relationships with external partners
