This is a great opportunity for qualified Welders to join our Maintenance division, working from our Gladstone Workshop.Immediate startCompetitive full time and casual hourly rates + penaltiesWeekly payRDO AccrualsThe RoleDuties and responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:Follow and abide by all site safety requirementsInterpret engineering and detail fabrication drawings, specifications and standardsUndertake and pass all necessary weld qualifications in required weld processesPerform the welding of steel components in all positionsMaintain all correct consumables, feeds, amperages and pre-heat in accordance with applicable weld proceduresPerform welding techniques including, but not limited to MMAW, FCAW, MIG, SAW, TIGWeld steel structures in sequence to eliminate shrinkage and distortion of steel componentsRemove tack welds, clean and restore weld preparations where requiredPerform gouging operations if requiredConduct visual inspection and clean up between runs and at the completion of each weldAssign welder number to each completed mark when required and complete daily weld reportsSling and move steel components with gantry cranes, mobile lifting equipment etc.Maintain correct and accurate MARK numbers on steel componentsUtilise all hand tools and welding machines to perform required functionsFollow quality control systems and techniquesAbout YouTo be successful in the role you will possess the following:Australian recognised Welding CertificateAbility to pass pre-employment medical and drug screenAbility to pass appropriate Weld TestCurrent 'C' Class Drivers licence or aboveForklift ticket (Preferred but not essential)At Civmec, we offer an inclusive workplace built on family values, with a ‘Never Assume’ culture, sustained by our experienced and supportive management team.
