Groundline & EWP Operators – Central NSW & Central Coast
Join our team working on the Essential Energy network, where safety and compliance are paramount. You'll be responsible for vegetation management around powerlines and electrical infrastructure operating at ground level and from elevated work platforms to maintain network reliability and community safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Elevated Work Platform (EWP) Operators have certain responsibilities, such as:
* Operate Elevated Work Platforms (EWP) safely and efficiently to perform vegetation clearance around powerlines.
* Assist with groundline operations, including trimming, cutting, and removing trees around powerlines and other infrastructure.
* Ensure compliance with Essential Energy safety standards and environmental regulations.
* Conduct pre-start checks and maintain equipment in good working order.
* Work collaboratively with team members to meet project deadlines and safety targets whilst ensuring safe and efficient vegetation control.
* Following strict protocols to minimize risks while operating at height with regards to safety regulations and environmental guidelines.
* Traveling to different sites as required, sometimes living away from home.
* Keeping the EWP, chainsaws, and tools in top condition for uninterrupted work
* Follow vegetation management plans and environmental regulations.
* Work collaboratively with crews, landowners, and local authorities to manage vegetation effectively.
* Ensure compliance with OH&S regulations, traffic management, and job site safety procedures.
* Assist in wildfire prevention efforts by managing vegetation in high-risk areas.
Qualifications:
Mandatory Requirements
* EWP licence/ticket is essential.
* ESI Cert II with up-to-date refreshers) is mandatory

* Operate and maintain chainsaws (AHCMOM213)
* Apply WHS requirements for powerline vegetation control (UETDRVC001)
* Comply with environmental requirements (UETDREL002)
* Work safely in the vicinity of live electrical apparatus as a non-electrical worker (UETDREL006)
* Monitor vegetation control work near live electrical apparatus (UETDRVC009)

* Current driver's license (MR or HR preferred).
* VESI, SWER, SAD, Manual Handling
* Traffic Units (RIIWHS205E & RIIWHS302E)
* First Aid
* Police Check
* WWC
* Understanding of safety measures associated with this role
* Succes in this position is based upon effective teamwork and clear communication. You will have the ability to work in a team or pair, as well as individually.
* Previous experience working on electrical networks or similar environments.
* Ability to work independently in remote locations if required.
Physical requirements:
* Ability to work at heights
* Physical fitness to operate chainsaws and other equipment
* Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions and undertake physical tasks.
