We are seeking a proactive and analytical Lifestyle Product and Underwriting Analyst to play a pivotal role in the evolution and management of our diverse product suite. About the role
The Lifestyle (Travel, Motorcycle and Pet) Product & Underwriting Analyst plays a key part in shaping and delivering a cutting‐edge insurance solution products that align closely with Auto & General's risk strategy and overarching product vision. In this role, you will be at the front‐line of a diverse range of general insurance products, including Motorcycle, Pet and Travel, assisting with overseeing end‐to‐end product lifecycle activities, including product design, development, management and underwriting. You will assist with closely monitoring portfolio performance and identify opportunities for better customer value and service. Your contributions into robust risk selection, product development and effective portfolio management will be crucial to the ongoing success of new and existing insurance products.
Key Responsibilities
* Product Innovation & Development: Contribute to the end‐to‐end product lifecycle, supporting the identification, design, development, and implementation of new and innovative Motorcycle, Caravan, Pet, and Travel insurance products, options, and benefits.
* Portfolio Optimisation: Assist with comprehensive market and competitor analysis to identify emerging trends, new opportunities, and areas for enhancement within our existing product portfolio.
* Product Enhancement: Support the continuous improvement and enhancement of our current product offerings, ensuring they remain competitive, compliant, and meet evolving customer needs.
* System & Underwriting Support: Participate in product development initiatives, including the testing and validation of product and underwriting‐related system changes to ensure accuracy, functionality, and optimal performance.
* Project Delivery: Provide crucial support for the day‐to‐day delivery of product‐related projects and initiatives, with opportunities to lead specific assignments focused on investigating and validating system modifications.
* Reporting & Insights: Prepare and deliver comprehensive departmental and operational reports, providing key insights and data analysis to support strategic business decisions and operational efficiency.

Qualifications and Experience
Essential
* 2+ years General Insurance product/portfolio management, underwriting and/or claimexperience; exposure to product development and portfolio management would behighly regarded.
* Sound knowledge/understanding of insurance product(s), underwriting and ratingmethods, systems and procedures – including drivers and levers of profitable growth.
* Knowledge of relevant regulatory regimes, compliance and insurance legislation.
* Sound communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Sound problem‐solving ability.
* Sound numerical and analytical skills.
* Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organisation.
* Attention to detail and accuracy.
* Ability to work autonomously while maintaining focus.
* IT literacy and the ability to learn new systems.
* Working knowledge of common application software, e.g. MS Office & Google Suite.
* Ability to respond rapidly and positively to change and to work under pressure to deliveroutcomes with competing priorities.
Desirable
* Tertiary qualification preferred.
* Experience in managing and completing user acceptance testing.
