In this role with MacKillop Family Services, you'll have the opportunity to provide in-home care and support to young people who need it most, helping them grow, develop, and thrive in a safe, nurturing environment.
**About the Role**:
As a **Residential Youth Support Worker**,**you'll be at the heart of our Residential Services, where we provide a safe and nurturing home for children and young people referred through the Child Protection system. You'll play an active role in their day-to-day care, offering emotional support, fostering personal growth, and helping them build life skills.
Your tasks will include:
- Supporting young people's emotional and practical needs - offering a listening ear and helping out when they need it most.
- Encouraging personal growth and well-being - helping them build skills, confidence, and a positive outlook on life.
- Managing the behind-the-scenes tasks - taking care of the day-to-day admin and helping the household run smoothly.
- Creating a positive environment - ensuring the space stays welcoming, stable, and supportive for everyone.
**What We're Looking For**:
To be a great fit for this role, you'll need:
- A Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (or similar qualification).
- A valid driver's license (you'll need it to get around).
- Working with Children Check, Criminal History Check, and NDIS Worker Screening Check (we'll help with this if needed).
- A genuine passion for helping young people thrive and a caring heart.
- Empathy, with the ability to connect with young people in a non-judgmental way.
- Strong emotional self-regulation skills - you'll be the steady hand that provides safety, consistency, and stability to those in your care.
