THE OPPORTUNITY

We’re looking for a Finance Officer to provide accounting support and help keep our financial records accurate and up to date. This role involves processing transaction such as creditors, debtors, and credit cards—and working closely with the Finance Team and Lifeline Australia staff. RESPONSIBILITIES

Accounts Receivable

- Reconcile daily bank transactions in XERO, ensuring accurate allocation to invoices.
- Generate invoices and credit notes, and manage the Accounts Receivable ledger.
- Liaise with teams to improve invoicing processes and aged debtor management.

Accounts Payable

- Process supplier invoices and staff reimbursements via ApprovalMAX, ensuring correct authorisations and GL coding.
- Maintain vendor records, onboard new suppliers, and perform regular reconciliations.
- Report on aged payables and support process improvements.

Month-End Process

- Assist with monthly reconciliations and reporting, including bank accounts, credit cards, and aged reports.
- Close AP and AR modules in XERO and support the Finance Manager with key account reconciliations.

Business Support

- Act as the key contact for finance systems and helpdesk queries.
- Deliver finance induction training for new staff on systems and processes.
- Support the Finance Team with ad hoc tasks and queries.

System Maintenance

- Maintain and update contacts, approval workflows, and corporate card accounts across XERO, ApprovalMAX, and Expensify.
- Identify and implement system and process improvements.

Compliance & Assurance

- Support audit preparation and monthly BAS reporting.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance with financial standards.

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience Finance accounting processes and has worked on processing of journals and completed general reconciliations
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently and assist in planning and organising of workflows and to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment whilst maintaining a high level of quality and accuracy
- Intermediate level of experience in Microsoft Excel
- Demonstrated communication, interpersonal, and customer relation skills in liaising and consulting with internal/external customers
- Proactive in seeking solutions to problems
